Teresa Giannico appropriates images that belong to our everyday and, through an
analogue manipulation process, gives life to ambiguous and suspended sceneries that mirror her iconographic baggage.
The objects, printed and mounted on cardboard supports, are composed to create
dioramas, whose traces are only visible in the final photograph. Born and raised in the province of Bari, for the exhibition Erosioni the artist produced an original work, inspired by the objects and feelings tied to the land of her origins.
The result is a dreamlike space, a composition of elements belonging to her memory: a kitchen from the 60s, summer tomatoes, her first drawing exercises. Moved by her still enchanted vision of Puglia, Teresa Giannico shares with us the permanent memory that surfaces despite the passing of time and physical distance, condensing in the image.
